Introducing Team EEC - Marisa

Marisa is one of the latest additions to the Essential Elements team of models. Before she stepped in front of the camera, she worked behind the scenes doing Lola's makeup for our Kedem Sasson and Rundholz photo shoots. She is a makeup artist originally from Detroit, Michigan and she's  been in Chicago for about 5 years now and loves the city so much! Marisa is a MBA graduate from Florida A&M University (Go Rattlers!) and bleeds orange & green.

What do you do in your downtime ?

My favorite pastime is enjoying myself at the lake. I love relaxing alone or with friends, playing with my dog & eating my favorite snacks. When the sun hits my skin, I feel like I'm at home. The lake has a special place in my heart.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

It would probably be the Caribbean or some place tropical. Warm weather & sunshine is how I thrive…literally! Lol.

 Your favorite Essential Elements designer?

My favorite EE designer is Kedem Sasson. His pieces scream sophistication. I enjoy the colors, the quality & the clothing is super comfortable.

Favorite Food?

Mexican! I could literally eat tacos & quesadillas everyday with no guilt. Oh, & Tajin. I also love potatoes too — fried, sautéed, baked… You name it!

What would people most surprised to know about you?

Most people would be surprised to know that I can bowl. I attended Florida A&M University on a bowling scholarship. So if you want to see me on the lanes, just make sure I’m on your team.

What’s your greatest accomplishment?

My greatest accomplishment has been starting a successful business during a pandemic. It has taught me how strong I am, how smart I am & how unstoppable I am.

What do you enjoy most about work?

I enjoy getting the opportunity to try on new clothes! I also have so much fun with Jackii. We listen to music & record fun reels.

How long have you been with Essential Elements?

5 months

What is your wardrobe staple?

Dresses! I absolutely love dresses. They are chic, effortless & comfortable. I like not having to worry about matching a top with a bottom. Dresses are sooo easy.

Who inspires your style?

No one in particular, however, I am drawn to boho chic styles.

You have the weekend off. What’s on the agenda?

Catching up on sleep, visiting the lake, hanging out with my friends & finding new plants to buy.

A fashion quote to live by?

"Fashions fade, style is eternal." —Yves Saint Laurent
